The Global Forum on Research and Innovation for Health in Manila, from August 24-27, 2015 will be hosted by the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED), in partnership with the Philippine Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Increased understanding of the impact of research and innovation on health is a critical importance as world leaders shift their focus to the post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals. Scientific Research and Innovation has transformative, efforts on health outcomes, and national economic growth and sustainable development.

Forum 2015, over the course of 3 days, will bring together all stakeholders who play a role in making research and innovation benefit health, equity and development.

The forum will use informative and interactive discussions, workshops, networking sessions and activities to allow participants to interact, inspire and learn from one another.

Forum 2015 provides a platform where low and middle income countries take prime position in defining the global health research agenda, in presenting solutions and in creative partnerships for action.

The effectiveness of Research and Innovation for health which may be increased through: accounting for results, increasing investments, and country-driven capacity building will also be tackled as well as the role of research and innovation in improving food safety and security, health in mega-cities and disaster risk-reduction.

Representing the Council on Health Research and Development will be Executive Director Carel lJsselmuiden, Philippine DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo, and Philippine Council for Health, Research and Development, Executive Director (PCHRD) Jaime C. Montoya.
