Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer Emlio S. de Quiros, Jr. (standing) presented updates on SSS financial status and operations before an audience of about 300 human resource managers during the “Dialogue with SSS Officials” sponsored by People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) last February 24 at Marriott Hotel, Pasay City.

De Quiros discussed various SSS concerns such as payment of contributions, procedures for SSS benefit applications and the corresponding qualifying conditions, the veto of President Benigno S. Aquino III on the proposed P2,000 pension increase and its effects on the viability of the fund if it was approved. He also clarified allegations by some legislators on the collection efficiency of SSS which is at 89.9 percent contrary to their claim of only 38 percent which is actually  the SSS coverage ratio.
