The Social Security System (SSS) formally opened its third branch in Pasig to meet the rising demand for its services in the fast-growing city and bring its social protection programs closer to more than 28,000 members and about 1,900 employers from barangays Rosario, Sta. Lucia, Santolan, Manggahan and Dela Paz.

SSS Senior Vice President for National Capital Region Operations Group Jose B. Bautista said that the SSS Pasig-Rosario Branch is located at the 3rd Floor of the Alfonso Commercial Complex along Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue in Barangay Rosario.

“SSS Pasig-Rosario provides a more convenient and accessible venue for members and employers to transact with SSS, especially given the increasing number of business establishments in the area. They no longer need to travel all the way to our other Pasig branches for their SSS concerns and queries,” said Bautista.

Apart from SSS Pasig-Rosario, members and employers residing and working in Pasig City can also visit SSS Pasig-Shaw located at Chipeco Building along Meralco Avenue and SSS Pasig-Rotunda located at the ARMAL Building in Barangay Caniogan.

As a full-service branch, SSS Pasig-Rosario offers transactions such as issuance of Social Security numbers for members, Employer ID numbers and Certificates of Registration for employers; data capture services under the Unified Multipurpose Identification System; receipt and processing of applications for salary loans, educational loans and funeral grants, and  receipt of benefit applications.

Aside from the regular services, SSS Pasig-Rosario conducts an on-going program called “Serbisyong Abot-Kamay.” Under the program, several employees of the branch are deployed to the five barangays to provide on-site services to members and employers.

“The branch holds a mini office in each covered barangay every second week of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members and employers can visit us for transactions such as verification of contribution, loan and benefit status, submission of benefit applications, and compliance with Annual Confirmation of Pensioners,” said Bautista.

Since the program started last February 8, SSS Pasig-Rosario holds the “Serbisyong Abot-Kamay” every Monday at Barangay Mangahan, Tuesday at Barangay Dela Paz, Wednesday at Barangay Santolan, Thursday at Barangay Rosario and Friday at Barangay Sta Lucia.

“We want to bring SSS closer to the community so that people don’t need to travel far for their SSS transactions. In Pasig City as well as in other areas across the country, we have been continuously expanding our network of branches and offices so that SSS services are within reach of our members,” Bautista said.

SSS Pasig-Rosario handles an average of 1,000 transactions and accommodates more than 300 walk-in claimants on a daily basis, while “Serbisyong Abot-Kamay” assists about 90 to 120 members per barangay.
