An American national was arrested by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) during an entrapment operation in Pasay City that also resulted in the seizure of ecstasy tablets.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said that the party drug was confiscated from suspect identified as Jun No, alias Jazz, 36 years old, an American citizen with Korean descent, a resident of Deep Creek Lane, Tampa, Florida, USA and temporarily billeted at the Arirang Hotel in Mabini Street, Malate, Manila.

On April 5, 2017 at around 9:20 in the evening, joint elements of PDEA Special Enforcement Service (PDEA-SES) under Director Ismael Fajardo, Jr., PNP-DEG and Mall of Asia PCP conducted a buy-bust operation in the parking lot of an Indian restaurant along Seaside Boulevard, MOA Complex, Pasay City that led to No’s arrest.

Confiscated from the suspect‘s possession were 140 ecstasy tablets, with an estimated value of P420,000.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed in court against No, who is presently under the custody of PDEA-SES.
