THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) celebrates another eventful year for the whole fisheries sector. The 53rd Fish Conservation Week, celebrate on 17-21 October 2016 commemorates not only the various accomplishments they have all together achieved towards attaining a sustainable, environmentally-responsible and globally-competitive fisheries industry by effectively developing, managing, and conserving fisheries resources, but also the people behind these successes. BFAR recognize the media’s contributions in heralding our efforts to the public and in partnering us towards building a more conscious, informed, and involved community. As the country’s celebration, they made the event momentous by presenting People’s Monitor Newspaper with the Gawad Pasasalamat Award as a token of gratitude for the commitment in safeguarding the interests of fishery and aquatic resources on October 21, 2016 at the PCA Covered Court, PCA Building, Diliman, Quezon City.
