CAMP OLIVAS, CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA With exactly a week before the electoral process on May 9, Police Regional Office 3 is already geared up to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of security coverage during the  fair and secure elections as it fielded 8,329 PNP personnel for election duties among polling precincts region wide.

A send-off ceremony was held at the PRO3 Parade Ground recentliy, participated in by PNP personnel, SWAT members and force multipliers and was witnessed by media practitioners and other gu ests. To maximize deployment, police personnel assigned to do desk work will also be sent out to augment the polling precincts to increase the number of those tasked to ensure safety and security during the Election Day. A press conference relative to the over-all and security preparations of the PNP-PRO3, AFP and COMELEC took place right after the send-off ceremony.

PCUPT LACADIN also presented PRO3’s accomplishments relative to the implementation of election related laws wherein a total of 513 firearms and 6,954 live ammunition were confiscated and 597 persons arrested.

Meanwhile, 5 election related incidents were recorded since the beginning of the election period, which were thoroughly investigated and validated, including shooting, mauling and straffing incidents that transpired in the provinces of Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Olongapo City and Tarlac.
