To strengthen the firefighting capability of the City of Manila, Manila Fire District Marshal Superintendent Antonio N. Razal Jr. spearheaded the launching of the 1st Manila Fire Brigade Summit at Sta. Cruz, Manila last June 27, 2017. A total of 335 fire volunteers from different barangays within the City of Manila attended the said event and pledge their commitment to preserve the City against destructive fires. Also present on the said event are different department heads of the local government of Manila which include Atty. Ericson Alcovendaz of the Office of the City Administrator, Mr. Dennis Alcoreza from the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau, Mrs. Antonina Villar from Manila Water Company Inc., Mr. Bernard M. Padilla from Maynilad Water Services Inc. Chief Inspector Marvin T. Carbonel from the Operations Branch of Manila Fire District and Senior Superintendent Wilberto Rico Neil A. Kwan Tiu of Bureau of Fire Protection National Capital Region.
Atty. Alcovendaz say thanks to everyone for attending the said ceremony and recognized the gallant efforts of BFP-Manila personnel to protect the City during fire incidents and other emergency situations. He encourage everybody to do their part and help the BFP during conflagrations to prevent the loss of lives and properties. He also signifies the present administration’s commitment in modernizing the fire service in the city and promise to acquire new equipment for the Manila Fire District.
