Rejano’s Bakery won the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) 2015 Best SETUP Adoptor Award and MSMEs Packaging Innovation Award during the SETUP Forum at the DOST’s 2015 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on July 24-28, 2015.

Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) is one of DOST’s leading Programs for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the Philippines.

SETUP aims to provide financial assistance and encourage MSMEs to adopt Technologies innovations for the improvement of their productivity and competitiveness.

A SETUP adopter is any MSME which has availed assistance from SETUP. Rejano’s Bakery is one of them.

Rejano’s Bakery won the regional Best SETUP Adoptor Award for MIMAROPA (Regional Contest), which made it qualified to the National SETUP nationwide competition. Other finalists were Keroobee Farms and McAlba Foods Corporation.

Other regional winners were Keroobee Farms of (CAR Region), Ressteel Construction of (Region 1), Base Wood Products (Region 2), Mon’s Haus of Mushroom (Region 3), Starwood Manufacturing Company Inc. (NCR), Riclet Engineering (Region 4-A), Prime General Merchandise (Region 5),Filbake Food Corporation (Region 6), Vircap Light Metal Industries (Region 7) ,Ormoc Marmercury Hardware and Allied Services Inc. (Region 8), Marc’s Balut (Region 9),McAlba Foods Corporation (Region 10), Tagum Golden Foods (Region 11), Tecuala Mini Sawmill and Wood Works (Region 12), and Guerta Enterprises (CARAGA Region)

For the MSMEs Packaging Innovation Award finalists were Chocovron of Region 4-A and Javier’s Instant Salabat Producers Associations of Region 8. (PScijourn Megamanila)
