Camp Olivas, San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON said that a large number of people violated the IATF regulations and local ordinances at Bakas River, Brgy. Matictic, Norzagaray, Bulacan on May 23.

According to PCOL LAWRENCE CAJIPE, PD, Bulacan PPO, Norzagaray MPS received information regarding mass gathering at Bakas River, upon verification an overwhelming number of people was swimming along the river stretching 4-7 kilometers while others were occupying bamboo cottages.

Joint personnel of Norzagaray MPS and 2nd PMFC with the help of HON. ALFREDO G GERMAR, Mayor, Municipality of Norzagaray advised the crowd to stop all activities and vacate the vicinity however, seventy-five (75) Provincial citation tickets (TCT) were issued to individuals who violated the provincial ordinance on health protocols.

Initial investigation revealed that three (3) entrances going to Bakas river were erected by Barangay under the guidance and clearance of Brgy Chairman, Marcial Lucas of Brgy. Matictic, Norzagaray, Bulacan with a Php20.00 fee per head. Norzagaray MPS invited all persons involved in the facilitation of the above-mentioned event for proper disposition.

Appropriate criminal and administrative complaint will be filed against the Bgy officials as evidence warranted.

” Time and again, I appeal to the public to stay at home if there is no need to go outside. Your police are duty-bound to enforce the law and we will not hesitate to arrest those who break the law,” PBGEN DE LEON added. (PIO-3) (CRIS PALARCA)
