After four years, the Bakery Fair 2023 has made a comeback, with several dignitaries to grace the event. With its tagline “Invigorate. Enhance. Sustain.”, each of these leaders gave their special messages. Among them were Vice-President Sara Duterte-Carpio, Senator Imee Marcos, Senator Loren Legarda, Senator Mark Villar, Senator Koko Pimentel, and former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. They congratulated the Filipino Chinese Bakery Association, Inc. (FCBAI) for organizing Bakery Fair 2023, which supports the revival of the Philippine bakery industry and the Philippine economy, after a four-year halt due to the global pandemic.
Held at the World Trade Center from March 2 to 4, the Bakery Fair 2023 has 136 exhibitors offering many educational and technical seminars given by bakers, chefs, and experts from the industry,
Activities for the three-day event include the FCBAI Bakers Cup Wedding Cake Competition 2023, which showcased wedding cake creations of “Kasalang Pinoy” theme. Guests are enthralled with the amazing creations using fondant, royal icing, gum paste, and many more.
Another activity is the “Angel Cup 2023.” This Bread Display competition highlighted the making of Bread Showpiece, Artisan Bread, Healthy Bread and Sweet Dough with dough filling.
The Bakery Fair is the Biennial civic project of the FCBAI to promote and uplift the Philippine Bakery Industry and support socio-economic development. (Liza Tagle Rico)
