In a heartwarming gesture that epitomizes the spirit of the holiday season, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recently organized a Gift-giving Activity for the dependents of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). Spearheaded by Secretary of Interior and Local Government, Atty. Benjamin C Abalos, Jr., Chief of the PNP, PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA, JR, and NCRPO Regional Director, PMGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ, JR, the event aimed to create lasting memories for the recipients.
The event, held at NCRPO Camp Bagong Diwa, Hinirang Hall, Bicutan, Taguig City on December 16, 2023, brought together agency heads, including Fire Director LOUIE S PURACAN and Jail Director RUEL S RIVERA. The occasion emphasized the Spirit of Giving, fostering commitment, connections, and meaningful relationships.
This initiative by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Tri-bureau sought to celebrate special moments and connect with the relatives, families, and loved ones of deceased uniformed personnel from PNP, BFP, and BJMP. The intuitive platform ensured an enjoyable gift-giving and sharing experience for facilitators, guests, and visitors, while simultaneously strengthening connections between the government and the community through meaningful acts.
Frontline services, including Recruitment and Retirement Services, and Medical Services, were also provided by PNP, BFP, and BJMP. The event drew sponsorship from the Philippines Charity and Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), BJMP Mutual Benefits Association Inc., SM Supermalls, and Donate Philippines. Benefactors received a total of 200 gift packs for physical attendees and 535 gift packs for virtual attendees, which included stuffed toys, goods, and more.
This joint initiative not only elevated the holiday experience for the uniformed personnel’s families but also showcased a unique way to reinforce the bond between the government and the community. Through these thoughtful gestures, the NCRPO and its partners demonstrated their commitment to meaningful connections and community enrichment during the festive season.
