The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is now accepting applications for its Grants for Research towards Agricultural Innovative Solutions (GRAINS) until August 9, 2024.

SEARCA GRAINS offers funding for research projects that tackle important agricultural issues such as sustainable farming, climate-resilient agriculture, biotechnology, value chains, food security, and agricultural policies.

Dr. Glenn Gregorio, SEARCA Center Director, says, “Through GRAINS, we aim to support researchers and innovators in creating solutions for a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector in Southeast Asia.”

Researchers and innovators from schools, government agencies, nonprofits, and private companies across Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, are encouraged to apply. The grant covers costs like personnel, equipment, fieldwork, and knowledge sharing activities.

Proposals should focus on innovative agricultural solutions that can significantly impact the region. SEARCA prioritizes projects that align with their mission of Accelerating Transformation Through Agricultural Innovation (ATTAIN).

Dr. Gregorio adds, “Innovation is at the core of SEARCA’s mission. We are looking for projects that push the boundaries of agricultural research.”
