A housewife, who is also a drug pusher, was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Iligan City on October 13, 2014. PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Marlyn Gapol y Yabroso, 39 years old, housewife and resident of Purok 4, Saray, Iligan City.
At around 1:30 pm, an undercover agent from PDEA Regional Office 10 Lanao del Norte Special Enforcement Team (PDEA RO10) under Director Emerson L. Margate acted as poseur-buyer and was able to buy one big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as shabu, from Gapol in her neighborhood in Purok 4, Saray, Iligan City.
After the transaction was consummated, operatives arrested Gapol. Confiscated from her possession were three pieces of big rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one small-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu, two pieces of small-sized rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the buy-bust money. Seized pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA Regional Office 10 laboratory for forensic analysis.
Gapol is presently under the custody of PDEA RO10. Charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been filed in court against her.
