The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has launched a fast lane for the immediate issuance of S-2 license to qualified medical practitioners.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr., said that the Agency, through its Compliance Service (CS), started the issuance of the system-generated S2 License Certificate to PDEA registered physicians, dentists and veterinarians on October 10, 2014. This replaced the S2 PVC Identification Card being issued by the Agency. The shift has reduced the issuance of the S-2 License to 20-30 minutes as compared to issuances before which is from 5-10 days. Hence, the Agency will no longer issue S2 License PVC-ID Cards to S2 registered practitioners. However, prior issuances are still valid.

Through this fast lane system, applicants are advised to submit complete requirements upon application. A Citizen’s Charter with procedures, application forms, and requirements can be downloaded at the PDEA website: pdea.gov.ph for accessibility of the information by would be applicants.

“We strive to be more effective and efficient in serving our clients, especially medical practitioners through the new S2 license certificate fast lane service, for a faster delivery of licenses, making them immediately available,” Cacdac said.
