Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar reported to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief, PDir Oscar D Albayalde, the arrest of a couple for allegedly manufacturing fake car plates during the implementation of a search warrant in Brgy. Silangan, Quezon City.

Report showed that authorities received information about the manufacture of fake car plates by live-in couple Kristine Nemenzo and her husband Jahaziel Alcantara using their printing and design business as a front.

Acting on the information, police sought and obtained search warrant No. 5422 (17), dated July 3, 2017, issued by Hon. Judge Fernando T. Sagun of QC RTC Br 78.

At about 8:30 a.m., July 5, 2017, joint personnel of QCPD DSOU and LTO-NCR swooped down on Kriziel’s Embossed Design Services at #9 Dove St., Sitio Veterans, Brgy. Bagong Silangan, arresting the suspects after seeing proof of the crime.

Operatives confiscated 29 fake car plates, 3 motorcycle plates, 33 steel plate sheets, car steel plate press, 1 laptop, 1 cutting board, 1 cold laminated board, 1 record book, 25 receipts of LBC Express and several car plate layouts.

Also, a Volkswagen with fake plate NFR 262 and a motorcycle with fake plate 8656PB were seized.

The suspects were charged with violation of P.D. 1730 (Declaring the Syndicated Printing, Manufacture, Distribution, Possession or Use of Fake Official Bureau of Land Transportation Forms, Documents, Plates And Stickers as Offenses Involving Economic Sabotage) in relation to Article 11 Sec 31 of RA 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code).

The court of origin will be notified of the successful implementation of the search warrant.

PCSupt Eleazar lauded the arrest of the suspects who were unmindful of the dangers to motorists and passengers of providing fake car plates.
