Following a Search Warrant implementation, a suspected kitchen-type shabu laboratory was discovered and dismantled Thursday afternoon (August 20, 2020) in Barangay Cawag, Subic, Zambales. It also resulted in the arrest of one suspect and seizure of assorted substances believed to be used in the manufacturing of shabu through the combined efforts of operatives from Zambales Police Provincial Office; Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III ; 2nd Zambales PMFC, Regional Intelligence Unit 3 (RIU-3) and Subic Police Station.

PBGEN SERMONIA identified the suspect as JOVEN A. SALVADOR aka Venjo (caretaker of the establishment), male, 36 years old, resident of Barangay Cawag, Subic. Operating teams recovered different types of suspected controlled precursors and essential chemicals (substances used in the preparation of shabu) and assorted laboratory equipment.

The top cop added that based on the initial assessment of PDEA3 Laboratory Section Chief, the dismantled shabu laboratory can produce at least a kilo of shabu per day. Meanwhile, a case for violation of Section 8 of RA 9165 (manufacturing of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursors and essential chemicals) will be filed against the suspect.(CRIS PALARCA)
