Packaging and labeling are keys when it comes to product marketing. Labeling, in particular, helps the product stand out in the market and aids the consumers to identify the products as well as their benefits.

In Bukidnon, business activities highly boost the economy by providing employment and investment opportunities. However, most products were non-compliant with the required packaging and labeling mandated by the country.

With a thorough assessment of the MSMEs’ needs for product label enhancement, DOST-Bukidnon partnered with the DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) in providing improved sticker product labels among five (5) MSMEs in Bukidnon.

DOST-Bukidnon distributed approximately 7,583 product label pieces to Mama Nene Food Products for its famous Pineapple Jam, Cabanglasan Special Program for Employment of Student’s Parents Association (CSPESPA) for itsfor its Corn Bean Crunchies with

Sesame Seeds, RMJ Binaki ni Mang Raul for its Flavored Binaki, and Senior Rogelio Robusta for its Excelsa & Arabica with Mangosteen Coffee Blend.

With the improved product label, both the agency and the beneficiaries anticipate an increasing product market competitiveness. Through this initiative, DOST-X also looks forward to significant growth in the agency’s number of assisted firms.

Label development and enhancement are some of the services offered by DOST to interested entrepreneurs. The agency also gives MSMEs awareness on the Mandatory Labeling Requirements and a Workshop on Packaging and Labeling.
