Drug law enforcers from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) participated in a one-day invitational shoot fest held at the PNP Firing Range, Camp Crame in Quezon City on October 7, 2014.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that 49 marksmen and women formed the teams of PDEA, PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) and NBI-Reaction Arrest and Interdiction Division (RAID) competing in the event.

The shooting competition featured three stages and was divided into six categories: team, lady, standard, production, classic and steel challenge “man vs man shooting, with a total of 17 trophies at stake.

The biggest winners include Team PDEA 1 that won the over-all championship followed by two teams from PNP-AIDSOTF. In the Ladies Category, NBI was the runaway victor. After the awarding ceremonies, the participating teams enjoyed a Fellowship Dinner that capped off the day’s festivities.

“Through this activity, we form stronger ties and bolster the culture and climate of cooperation among drug law enforcement agencies. Thus strengthening our foundation of teamwork in performing a common mandate, that is crushing the drug menace. It is also an exercise to sharpen our shooting competency and safety in handling firearms,” Cacdac said.
