A 20-year-old Korean national was arrested by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police during a buy-bust operation in La Union on Monday, October 27, 2014.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Sangsu Kim, male, jobless and a resident of Barangay San Francisco, San Fernando City.

At around 4:05 in the afternoon, operatives of PDEA Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1) under Director Adrian Alvariño, in collaboration with a team from San Fernando City Police Station arrested Kim after he sold dried marijuana leaves placed inside a transparent plastic sachet to a poseur-buyer in Barangay Pagudpud, San Fernando City, La Union. When frisked, Kim yielded a rolled paper containing marijuana, a mobile phone and the P1,000 marked bill that was used as buy-bust money.

Kim will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
