“Piliin ang pangarap, huwag ang panandalian sarap” (Always choose your dreams and aspirations over a moment’s pleasure.) This was POPCOM Usec Juan Antonio Perez III ‘s message to young people, mostly college students, passing by LRT-2 Legarda station as he handed out symbolic roses to them on Valentine’s day.
Perez told reporters that staging the event at an LRT train station was apt, as it urged teenagers to heed the warning signs of a railway.

- Look — consider the possible costs and consequenses of their rash actions
- Listen — to the wisdom and experiences of the elders around you.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the number of pregnancies and births by young adolescents has increased to 63% from 2011 to 2018. As such, the POPCOM chief appealed to Filipino teens to avoid being part of this statistics by saying NO to premature sexual engagement and risky behaviors that may result to early pregnancies.He encouraged the students to maximize the privilege of their schooling and spread the word to their friends as the next generation of citizens that will lead the country.
