Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija – About 100 residents affected by the recent Mt.Taal eruption from Agoncillo, Batangas province benefitted from the humanitarian assistance provided by the Holy Angel University Alumni Association (HAUAA) in partnership with the 48th Infantry (Guardians) Battalion on February 29, 2020.

The assistance received by the beneficiaries contained used clothings, bath towels, toiletries, five (5) boxes of multivitamins and medicines.

Present during the activity were HAUAA Board of Trustees Mr. Edgar Flores and Mr. Reden Galang together with 15 other members of the association.

With this collaborative efforts and strong partnership with the Army, Mr. Flores expressed his gratitude to the members of the 48th IB, in an interview conducted by Lt. Kinley C. Cocjin, Civil Military Operations Officer over Radyo Bulacan, for providing them transportation and manpower assistance from Telebestagan, Angeles City to the venue of the activity.

“The cooperation resulted to the success of their advocacy in reaching out to the victims of Taal eruption in Agoncillo, Batangas,” said Mr. Flores.

Meanwhile, Major General Lenard T. Agustin, Commander, 7ID said in a statement: “To serve the people means to always open the door in extending assistance to those big-hearted individuals in carrying out their plans of providing thd basic needs to the victims of whatever calamities. Your Philippine Army, especially the 7th ID, is always ready 24/7 not only to protect but also to serve the people.”

In relation to this, Lt. Col. Felix Emeterio M. Valdez also expressed his gratitude to the association.

“Personally, I would like to extend my gratitude to the leadership and members of the Holy Angel University Alumni Association for choosing the ‘Guardians’ Battalion to be their partner in extending help and support to the victims of Taal eruption. We hope to have more partnerships with your team as we provide service to the people, especially to the needy and deprived,” Lt. Col. Valdez said.
