As of April 8, 2020, more than 15,000 rice farmers from Calabarzon had already received P5,000 each under the Financial Subsidy to Rice Farmers (FSRF) program of the Department of Agriculture.

As the Regional Rice Program is in collaboration with the Land Bank of the Philipp[ines and the Local Government Units to speed up the processing of necessary documents, more rice farmers from Batangas, Quezon, and Laguna will benefit from the program in receiving cash grant as early as possible via cash/prepaid card or other electronic modes, according to Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa.

The beneficiaries under FSRF are smallholder farmers registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) regardless of tenurial status whose landholding and/or tilling one hectare and below.

“FSRF covers rice farmers whose province was not included in the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance program of the Department,” Director de Mesa cleared up.
