Stressing the impact of good photography in boosting promotions in the 21st century, the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST XI) through the Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) of Davao Occidental held a “Photography 101” workshop for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) last July 7, 2022.
The workshop was led by Mr. Henry de Leon, audiovisual technician, photographer, videographer and media officer of the DOST Science and Technology Information Institute.
With the advent of social media and advancements in smartphones, Mr. de Leon emphasized how the use of photography using a simple mobile phone can capture products and events worthy of being published in major magazines or websites.
In capturing MSME products, Mr. de Leon highlighted the importance of showing the labels of the products in the photo and ensuring that the audience can identify what the product is at a glance.
Mr. de Leon reviewed and gave comments on the photos submitted by the participants. He encouraged the participants to maximize the features of their mobile phones to adequately capture the essence of the subjects in the image.
The PSTC Davao Occidental expressed gratitude and appreciation to Mr. de Leon for his valuable contribution to improving the services of DOST by sharing his expertise in photography which is vital in the presentation of DOST-assisted products in the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program.
In closing, Mr. de Leon motivated the participants to keep practicing and remember the knowledge imparted in the photography workshop. (DOST XI S&T Information and Promotion)
