The Metals Industry Reasearch and Development Center (MIRDC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) welcomes the second Science Nation Media Tour, with the theme “Agham na Ramdam.”

Assistant secretary Raymond E. Liboro is presently on an official trip to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to attend the World Summit Award where the ARKO app mobile is one of the 40 finalists. This will vie for the honor of becoming the best mobile app in the world under the m-inclusion and Empowerment category. It was developed for the DOST’s flagship program for disaster management, the Project NOAH. This prestigious award is a clear testament to the Filipino as a world class talent in the field of science and technology.

During the program, Dr. Aristotle P. Carandang, Chief of the Communication Resources and Production Division of DOST-STII, gave the opening message. Engr. Roberto O. Dizon, assistant secretary of the DOST and officer-in-charge of DOST-MIRDC presented the welcoming remarks. Engr. Fred P. Liza, Chief of Prototyping Division of DOST-MIRDC handled the DMSC presentation. He also led the Media Tour with the DMSC staff.

Representatives who gave their testimonials include Dr. Agustine M. Fudolig, Mr. Philip C. Ang, and Mr. Pacito I. Madroña.

Closing remarks were done by Engr. Jonathan Q. Puerto, deputy executive director for R&D DOST-MIRDC.
