PRIZE FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS. Academician Rhodora V. Azanza (center), president of the National Academy of Science and Technology-Philippines (NAST), hands to Dr. Alonzo A. Gabriel, Professor of Food Science and Technology of the University of the Philippines, the 2018 TWAS (Third World Academy of Sciences) Prize for Young Scientists in the Philippines (field of biology) during the awarding held at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on Monday (Dec. 3, 2018). Joining them is national scientist Lourdes J. Cruz. The TWAS Prize for Young Scientist in the Philippines is an award given to outstanding young Filipino scientists for the advancement of science and technology in developing countries.
