Microsatellites won the Elvira O. Tan award. Roselyn D. Aguila, Sweedy Kay L. Perez, Billy Joel N. Catacutan, Grace V. Lopez, Noel C. Barut, and Mudjekeewis D. Santos worked on the research.

2016 NSAARRD third place for the research category went to Management of Cassava Phytoplasma Disease: Survey, Diagnosis, Characterization, and Control, implemented by the Visayas State University and lead by Dr. Erlinda A. Vasquez.
