DA’s Livelihood Assistance Program

Two thousand native chicken, complete with nets, feeds, and information materials, have been distributed to selected livestock farmers at Lipa City, Batangas. This has been made possible when the Department of Agriculture Region IV-CALABARZON extended animal interventions and inputs on June 3, 2020, under DA’s Regional Livestock Program, the Livelihood Assistance Program

Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Research and Regulations, and Regional Livestock Coordinator Vilma M. Dimaculangan, in coordination with the local government of Lipa City, facilitated the turnover of livelihood assistance package, benefitting a total of 100 farmer-recipients of the municipality.

“Taking good care of these native chickens will not only secure food in the future but it will also secure livelihood and income,” she said. Likewise, ARD Dimaculangan shared that the regional office offers an array of programs and interventions, aside from animal distribution, that may also be availed by the farmers of the region.
