Isinagawa ng National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) ang kauna-unahang “National Development Leader Summit” na may temang: “Strengthening NCMF in Building Resilient Muslim Communities,” na ginanap sa Conrad Manila, noong January 31, 2023.

Ito ay dinaluhan ng mga National Muslim Leader, both traditional at institutional, legislator, professional, academicians, ilang opisyal ng gobyerno, official delegates mula sa ibang bansa at mga media.  Layunin ng nasabing summit na magkalikha ng ibat-ibang programa na makakatulong sa mga Pilipinong Muslim sa bansa.

Sa pasisimula ng programa, malugod na binati at pinasalamatan ni Atty. Guiling A. Mamondiong, Secretary ng MCMF, ang mga dumalo sa nasabing summit, “ We are honored and delighted with your presence. May this event flourish further our agency  collaborations and partnerships for meaningful projects in the future, for the benefits and interest of Muslim Filipino communities.”

Ipinakilala ni Mamondiong ang keynote Speaker na si Sec. Antonio F. Lagdameo Jr., Special Assistant to the President, na nagbigay ng makabuluhang mensahe, bilang kahalili ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Si Tahir S. Lidasan Jr. naman, CESO II Executive Director, ang nagpakilala sa dalawa pang resource speakers na sina Senator Robinhood C. Padilla, Chairman Committee on Cultural Communities  and Muslim Affairs at Congressman Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo, Chairman, Committee on Muslim Affairs.

Sa isinagawang press conference, sinabi ni Commissioner  Yusoph J. Mando, NCMF Spokesperson, “The purpose of this Summit is to develop Muslim leaders and prepare them with the knowledge , skills and abilities necessary to lead relevant , thriving Muslim organizations and be leaders in their respective communities and professions. This is in line with PBBM agenda that will provide opportunities  for Muslim filipinos to come up with valuable input in crafting a comprehensive program to address  issue and concerns affecting Muslim and the Filipino in general.”

“Furthermore, in line with the 10-point agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the commission under the leadership and guidance of Secretary Guiling A. Momondiong has crafted policies and program that are geared on building resilient Muslim communities – communities that are self-sufficient and capable of contributing to the realization of the President’s goal to deliver economic renewal and long-term growth as well as restore peace and prosperity for all Filipino.”

“This being said, the goal of the summit is to develop programs to help Filipino Muslims to be empowered with productive and sustainable livelihood ang family free  from harm and could be able to exercise their faith freely. This means a productive peaceful and with taqwa/ God – Fearing Muslim Community.”

Sa mensahe ni Senator Padilla ipinaliwanag nito ang kahalagahan at ibig sabihin ng “An Effective Autonomous Government: A Step Towards Federal-Parliamentary Government.” Narito po ang kanyang sinabi:

Tinalakay naman ni Congressman Muhamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo Chairman , Committee on Muslim Affairs ang tungkol sa “Reflections on the Implementation of RA 9997 Creating the NCMF: Policy Interventions, Challenges and Opportunities.” Sinagot din nito ang mga katanungan pagdating sa Open Forum.
